Lake Miyagase is tourist attraction by day, but during the entire month of December, it turns into a magical Christmas wonderland. You may also hear it be called the "Miyagase Christmas Gathering" or " Miyagase Illumination" due to one of the festivals major highlights which is their giant Christmas tree (said to be the tallest in Japan) and also the 10,000+ ligh illuminating the entire village.
When you first arrive you have two options:
1. You can walk on the grassy ground below to get to the village -or-
2. Pay a couple hundred yen to use the bridge that is arched with lights
